Adaptorgerhaus: From model to moulded part in 7 working days

Customer Brief: Manufacture a tool within 7 days to produce 200 parts for a launch build, tool to be suitable to produce 3000 parts per year.

Day 1

3D models were received in IGES format.
Manumold tool selected. Timings and costs calculated, based on liaising with all parties involved. Quote and timing plan submitted.

Day 2
Order received. Tool design agreed using an existing bolster.
We recommended split line moved from centre to edge for improved appearance and reduced cost. Gate position agreed.

Manumold tool pocketed out and new ejection holes added. Striker plate modified. Tool trial booked into production, material organised.

Day 3
Core and Cavity Inserts blocked up and high speed machined. Electrodes modelled.

Day 4
Electrodes machined. Core and cavity sparked.

Day 5
Tool assembled and shut out.

Day 6
Tool trialed, small modification carried out to ease ejection of parts.
Dimensional check carried out.

Day 7
200 parts moulded.
